Definition:
The general activity of attempting to assess and compare the cost efficiency of different hospitals. One method uses available financial information on case mix adjusted charge data to determine Relative Case Weights (RCW). Another method uses the Management Information System (MIS), developed by the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI).
