Definition:

The act of providing a patient with a supply of medications, usually by a pharmacist. To be differentiated from medications that are prescribed by physicians. Drug information available at the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy (MCHP) assesses medications dispensed by community or retail pharmacists. See the Drug Program Information Network (DPIN) glossary term for more information.
