Glossary Definition

The act of providing a patient with a supply of medications, usually by a pharmacist. To be differentiated from medications that are prescribed by physicians. Drug information available at the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy (MCHP) assesses medications dispensed by community or retail pharmacists.
