Definition:

An indicator of hospital performance that combines three characteristics of the care delivered: 1). percentage of inpatient cases that involve delivery or a surgical procedure, 2). percentage of inpatient cases that have a length of stay greater than one day or which represent a reasonable one day stay (excludes cases admitted just for observation), and 3). average complexity score for typical medical cases (measured using RDRGĀ® weights).
