Definition:

Two measures of physician services were used in this study: total physician visits (excluding diagnostic laboratory and imaging services), and total physician visits recording a mental health diagnosis. Both measures are classified by site of service (ambulatory, hospital emergency or outpatient department, or inpatient), and by type of provider (psychiatrists or non-psychiatrists).
