Definition:
One of six diagnostic quality indicators (QIs). Events of skin ulcers were counted using the ICD-9-CM code 707 in both the medical services/physician claims data and the hospital discharge abstracta data. This definition includes events of decubitus ulcers and other skin ulcers related to poor nutrition and neurodegenerative diseases.
