Term: Age - proportion of the population in a certain age group
Last Updated: 2007-10-29
Two age-based proportions are used: the proportion of the population age 65 and over, and age 75 and over. This is calculated by dividing the number of people in the designated age group by the total number of people living in the geographic area, as of a given time.
