Term: High Birth Weight

Definition:

Any infant who weighs between 4,001 and 9,000 grams as recorded at birth (Brownell et al., 2010).

In Heaman et al. (2012), a baby is considered to have a high birth weight if the weight is greater than 4,500 grams.
