Definition:
This is an indicator of a patient who died while admitted to a hospital. This can be identified from the separation / discharge disposition coded in the hospital abstracts data. The scope usually includes all hospitals in Manitoba and out-of-province hospitalizations for Manitoban residents, but does not include deaths in personal care / nursing homes, nursing stations and other long-term care facilities in Manitoba.
