Definition:
"The CSDS is a national consortium of local data user networks that provides a gateway through which municipalities and community-based organizations access social data from Statistics Canada and other sources." (
Canadian Council on Social Development (CCSD) web site:
http://communitydata.ca/content/about-community-social-data-strategy - accessed January 23, 2017). Through the CCSD and its’ consortium, of which MCHP is a member of the Manitoba group, a wide variety of social data is available for public use.
The Community Data Program data is a custom set of over 100 data tables based on the Canada Census (CC) population survey and National Household Survey (NHS) data, as well as other data sources. The data is available in aggregate form. MCHP maintains several tables of basic demographic, social and economic profiles of Manitobans based on the CC and NHS survey data. Some of the tables report on specific population groups (e.g. Aboriginal, Francophone and Immigrants) and by custom geographies (e.g. RHA Districts and Winnipeg Neighbourhoods) that were developed at MCHP.
