Definition:

The Youth Health Survey (YHS) data is a survey of Manitoba youth (grade 7 to 12) on self-reported health and social behaviours taken at a specific point in time (during the September 2012 to June 2013 school year). It was used to collect information as part of Manitoba’s Healthy Schools Initiative. Students from about 500 public and other schools in Manitoba participated in the survey. Questions were asked regarding demographics, work, volunteering, mental health, sleep, physical activity, sun exposure, screen time, eating, tobacco, alcohol use, drug use, safety, sexuality, and PE/HE (Physical Education/Health Education).
