Definition:

concept/Social Determinants of Health-SDOH-Digital Library-Image.jpg A diversion can be offered at any time by the Crown during a prosecution. When a diversion is offered after a charge has been laid, but prior to a conviction, it is called a post-charge diversion. Upon successful competition of the diversion program, criminal charges may be withdrawn, reduced, or otherwise resolved without a criminal record.
