Definition:
The Sex Offender Information Registration Act (SOIRA) establishes a database, accessible to Canadian police services, that provides information regarding persons convicted of sexual offences. A SOIRA order requires a convicted offender to report to a police station and place themselves on a national database of individuals who have been convicted of the same select offences.
