concept/Social Determinants of Health-SDOH-Digital Library-Image.jpg A process hearing is type of administrative court hearing, At these hearings a Justice of the Peace (a “JJP”) appears instead of a judge. This JJP interacts with police who bring in their document packets for a particular offence. These police swear the information document (which contains a high-level overview of the offence) as being true in front of the JJP. The document is then signed, dated and assigned a court tracking number (a justice information number or a JIN). Once this happens it means that the charges are formally laid against the accused individual.
