Definition:
The Chronic Condition Indicator (CCI) is a tool developed by Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) and sponsored by the US Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) that classifies ICD-9-CM diagnosis codes into chronic and non-chronic conditions.
