Definition:

A research method in which questionnaires are used to gather information regarding health status and other related issues from many participants. They are often administered in-person, over the phone or via the mail. The resulting data is useful in describing, comparing, and sometimes explaining different phenomena. With the appropriate permissions, health survey data have sometimes been linked to information from the Manitoba Population Research Data Repository (Repository). Two of the major studies have been the Aging in Manitoba Study, and a project to link Manitoba and Statistics Canada data.
