Last Updated: 2006-03-23
Definition:
This indicator reports hospitalization rates for hip fracture (ICD-9-CM code 820) among residents age 40+, during a five year period. In the overwhelming majority of cases, residents experiencing hip fracture will be hospitalized, but it remains possible that some cases might not be hospitalized, and would therefore not be captured by this definition. Values are adjusted to reflect the population of Manitoba age 40+ (males and females combined).
