Term: Period Prevalence

Definition:

This measures the number of individuals with a specific disease or condition in a population over a period of time (e.g.: 5 years), divided by the number of individuals in the population at mid-period (Young, TK, 1998). This is the most common measure of prevalence used in MCHP research.
