Definition:

Once every two years, Kindergarten teachers complete the EDI questionnaire for the children in their classroom. This occurs in early spring time. EDI data is collected province-wide on behalf of Healthy Child Manitoba (HCM) by all Kindergarten teachers in all 37 public school divisions. In addition, some Independent and First Nations schools participate on a voluntary basis. All Kindergarten students at participating schools are included unless they are withdrawn from participation by their parents.
