Concept: Amenable Hospitalizations
Concept Description
Last Updated: 1994-10-16
Introduction
A list of medical conditions that a panel of physicians have agreed should NOT result in untimely death are identified as conditions amenable (responsive) to medical treatment. The "conditions" chosen were intended to be used NOT to provide a definitive evaluation, but rather to indicate where a problem may exist and to stimulate further inquiry. Age limits were imposed for some of the conditions.
NOTE:
Only most responsible hospital diagnoses are used in identifying conditions.
