Definition:

The 10th version of the ICD (International Classification of Disease) coding system, developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) that is used to classify diseases and related health problems. As of January 1, 2000, ICD-10 is being used by Vital Statistics to code cause of death (mortality) on the death certificate (also known and the Medical Certificate of Death).
