Glossary Definition

Definition:

The time between the date of a patient's last pre-operative visit to the operating surgeon (when the decision for surgery has been made) and the date of the surgery. This definition is not appropriate for patients receiving surgery for chronic conditions, as they might have several pre-op visits with the surgeon.
