Glossary Definition
Last Updated: 2011-09-01
Definition:
An administrative health database containing information on pending Manitoba cardiac surgery patients. It monitors patients waiting for cardiac procedures, such as coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and valve surgery. Patients are entered into the database upon the decision to proceed with surgery. Patients' date of surgery is entered into the registry and, following a medical chart review, patient information (surgical wait times, demographics, clinical and/or functional information, and recommended maximum wait time) is added. Encounter, cancellation, deferral and linkage files are components of this database.
