Term: Kaplan-Meier Curve
Last Updated: 2022-10-25
A non-parametric analysis of data that deals with time until the occurrence of any well-defined event, such as death. This analysis is not based on any assumption of the distribution of the survival times.
Kaplan-Meier curves are usually presented as a survival curve, beginning at 1 at the top of the Y-axis and showing cumulative loss over time as a proportion of population, or as a failure curve, beginning at 0 and showing cumulative incidence of the event being studied (also known as a cumulative incidence function curve).
