Definition:
STIs are infections that are transmitted through sexual contact (oral, vaginal or anal) with an infected individual. Blood-borne infections are transmitted by blood. Some infections (e.g.: HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B and syphilis) are capable of being transmitted through both sexual and blood-borne transmission routes.
