Glossary Definition
Last Updated: 2012-11-05
Definition:
"Birth after 20 weeks' gestation, regardless of whether the infant is born alive or dead. The terms gravida and para refer to pregnancies, not to the fetus. Thus twins, triplets and other multiple fetuses count as one pregnancy and one birth.' (Olds SB et al., 2004).
