Definition:
An inpatient hospitalization for an infant born in hospital and admitted directly after birth. In Fransoo et al. (2013), live birth hospitalizations were defined by the combination of hospital abstract type for newborn and ICD-10-CA diagnosis code Z38, "Liveborn infants according to place of birth."
