Definition:

Antibiotics are a type of medication typically prescribed to treat bacterial infections. The age- and sex-adjusted percentage of residents with one or more prescriptions for antibiotics are measured over a fiscal year. Antibiotic medications were identified by ATC codes J01 and G04A.
