Definition:

Also known as "Aboriginal peoples". This term refers to peoples belonging to one of three groups of Aboriginal peoples whose rights are recognized and affirmed in the Canadian constitution - First Nation, Metis, and Inuit (Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada, 2017). These are three separate peoples with unique histories, geographies, languages, cultural practices and spiritual beliefs.
