Definition:

This statistical method investigates the diagnostic validity / level of agreement between the patient's cancer diagnoses found in the Manitoba Cancer Registry data compared to the patient's cancer diagnosis appearing in the Hospital Abstracts data or the Medical Services (Physician Claims) data. Three different time frames were investigated:

  • within one month before and after date of diagnosis in the Cancer Registry;
  • within six months before and after date of diagnosis; and
  • within one year before and after date of diagnosis.
For more information on the methods and results of this analysis, please read the Cancer Diagnoses Validity / Agreement In Administrative Health Data concept.
