Introduction

    This concept describes how angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) prescriptions are identified using administrative data in the MCHP Data Repository.

    The primary use of ACE inhibitors and ARB prescriptions is to relax and enlarge the blood vessels in order to lower blood pressure. These drugs are sometimes prescribed for people with hypertension and diabetes.
