Definition:

The NPHS was a survey administered by Statistics Canada that collected longitudinal data related to the health and socio-demographic conditions of the Canadian population. It was a biennial survey where the same respondents were re-interviewed every two years. The NPHS was composed of three components: the Households, the Health Institutions, and the North components. MCHP houses the Households component only. The survey excluded populations living in First Nation (Indian) Reserves, on Canadian Forces Bases, and in some remote areas.

NOTE: As of August, 2019 the CCHS and NPHS data from Statistics Canada is no longer available for research use through the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy (MCHP).
