The physical functioning scale is a summary measure from the SF-36 questionnaire, indicating a person's ability to perform a variety of physical tasks from dressing and bathing, to walking one block, to vigorous exercise. The physical functioning scale is a derived measure, addressing basic physical functioning on a scale of 0 to 100 (0 meaning unable to bathe or dress or walk one block; 100 meaning capable of vigorous activity).
