Definition:

A Manitoba government department with a mandate for "setting priorities and allocating funds for the Province's public and funded independent Kindergarten-Grade 12 (K-12) schools. The Department is also responsible for providing policy direction on administrative matters of the education system under authority of" ... [a variety of legislated Acts]. The Manitoba Education department was formed in the 2009-2010 fiscal year as a result of a department restructuring of the Manitoba provincial government. Previously, it was part of the department called Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth (MECY). Currently, it is part of a department called Education and Advanced Learning.

The MCHP Data Repository houses several Education related databases, including the Enrollment, Marks and Assessments and the Early Literacy Intervention Program data from Manitoba Education.
