Definition:

Also known as beta-adrenergic blocking agents, these drugs are used to reduce blood pressure and have been shown to lower the risk of subsequent heart attacks. These are identified by the Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical (ATC) drug classification codes: C07AA and C07AB.
