Definition:

how or by what the route the drug is administered or given access to th3e body; (e.g. oral, rectal, intravenous, transdermal, etc.) There are two sources currently available for identifying the route of administration of a drug: 1). The Master Formulary file, (coding from Health Canada's Drug Product Database (DPD), or the Drug Identification Number (DIN) Master file which contains a route code (variable named ROUTECD, e.g. O, T, I), but is limited because no labeling format is available.
