Definition:

An eight digit number, assigned by the Therapeutic Products Directorate of Health Canada, to each drug approved for use in Canada in accordance with the Food and Drug Regulation. The same drug (e.g. Amoxicillin, 250 mg capsules) can have several different DINs associated with it (for example, due to different manufacturers, different dosage forms, routes or strengths).
