Definition:
A standardized list of all drugs, or Drug Identification Number (DINs), developed and updated annually at MCHP from the Drug Identification Number (DIN) Master File. A common formulary was needed to handle the different combinations of DINs in the various Drug Program Information Network (DPIN) carriers. This enhanced file contains additional data fields such as the brand name of the drug, the generic product name, and drug classification codes (Anatomical Therapeutic Classification (ATC) System from World Health Organization and the Drug Product Database from Health Canada).
