Definition:
This measures the percent of where health region/RHA residents went for hospitalization, categorized as:
-
a hospital within their (home) RHA,
-
another RHA,
-
in Winnipeg, or
-
out-of-province.
If a patient is transferred between hospitals, each stay is counted as a separate event and is attributed to the appropriate location. Area residence was assigned based on the patient's postal code provided in the hospital abstract at the time of hospitalization.
