Term: Residents of Personal Care Homes (PCH)
Glossary Definition
Last Updated: 2020-05-22
Definition:
The percent of residents age 75 and older who lived in a PCH in a given year. Area of residence was assigned based on where people lived at the time, which is determined by the location of the PCH (using postal code and municipal code). Average annual values are usually compared for two two-year time periods, and are age- and sex-adjusted to the population of Manitobans age 75 and older in the first time period.
The term "Personal Care Home (PCH) Residents" has also been used in previous MCHP research.
