Definition:

This indicator measures the age- and sex-adjusted average annual percent of residents 75 and older who were admitted to a personal care home (PCH), according to where they lived prior to being admitted to a PCH.

In Frohlich et al. (2001), five years of data was combined to provide reliable rates.

In Fransoo et al. (2011), this measured the percentage of survey participants aged 75 and older admitted to a PCH in the three years after their survey date.

In Fransoo et al. (2013, 2019), this indicator measured the percent of residents who were admitted to a personal care home (PCH) for the first time.

This term has also been called Personal Care Home (PCH) Admissions in other MCHP research.
