The Critical Care / Intensive Care Unit (ICU) data contains episode information for critically ill individuals admitted to any of the adult ICUs in six Winnipeg hospitals. The types of ICUs include:
Data collected for each episode of care includes: patient demographics; diagnoses, complications and comorbidities; acuity scores; lab test results; and therapeutic interventions.
Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU),
Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU),
Intermediate Intensive Care Unit (IICU),
Coronary Intensive Care Unit (CICU), and
Critical Care Unit (CCU).
In MCHP research, the Critical Care / Intensive Care Unit (ICU) data has also been referred to as the
Winnipeg ICU Database (WICUDB).
