Term: Quality Indicator (QI) - IMPRxOVE Program

Glossary Definition

Last Updated: 2015-01-29

Definition:

Markers that have been developed by Care Management Technologies (CMT) to reflect the presence or absence of potential shortcomings in the provision of care. These indicators are not intended to identify definitive problems in the quality of healthcare provision, but rather are intended to serve as prompts for healthcare providers to conduct further investigation / exploration into the care that triggered the QI.

For the Manitoba IMPRxOVE Program, discussed in Chateau et al. (2015), the Quality Indicators (QI) were all related to potentially inappropriate prescribing patterns.
