					 How to Read this Report

This online report represents the first time that the
Manitoba Centre for Health Policy (MCHP) has published
a report solely to the World Wide Web, allowing enhanced
report navigation and sharing of information. Because
this is a new way to present a report, we've provided
some information here to guide the reader.
At the left side of every page you
will find links to help you navigate within the Manitoba
Child Health Atlas. At the right side
of every page you will find links to the Education Key
Findings printed report. At the top of
every page are buttons linking to several other locations
                        on MCHP's website.

Each of the Indicators pages provides
a short description of the indicators, as well as links
to graphs available in both Microsoft Excel and PDF format.
Maps are available for selected indicators.
The advantage of viewing the Excel files is that the
report data used to make the graphs are provided, and
for some indicators, the data sheet contains information
not provided in the graphs. Through publishing this report
to the Web, we can provide much more information than
could be made easily available in a printed document.
Policy makers and others interested in regional analyses
can access data relevant to their own regions in Manitoba.
The advantage of the PDF files is that they provide
an alternative, printer-friendly, means to view the graphs
for readers who may not have Microsoft Excel. PDF files
can be viewed through Adobe Acrobat Reader, which can
be downloaded for free from Adobe.
The data are not provided within the PDF files.
For more information on the graphs, please see the Data
                        Display section within Methods.
                      The Background section provides information
from similar research, details about how the indicators
were measured, and links to related information.
