Last Updated: 2012-10-16
Definition:
The Johns Hopkins Adjusted Clinical Group® (ACG®) Case-Mix System is a risk adjustment tool developed to measure the illness burden (morbidity) of individual patients and enrolled populations. This system quantifies morbidity by grouping individuals based on their age, gender and all known medical diagnoses assigned by their health care providers over a defined time period (typically one year).
Up until 2001 and the release of version 5, the ACG system was referred to as Ambulatory Care Groups (ACGs). For more information see the
Adjusted Clinical Group® (ACG®) - Overview
concept.
