Definition:

Death due to injury, as defined by the presence of one of the ICD-9 E-Codes or ICD-10 V, W, X, Y-Codes as the cause of death from the Vital Statistics Mortality Registry Data, except those for misadventures, reactions, complications, or adverse effects of medical, surgical or pharmaceutical treatments.
