Definition:

Formed in February 2000 through the amalgamation of the Winnipeg Community and Long Term Care Authority (WCA) and the Winnipeg Hospital Authority (WHA). The WRHA is responsible for coordinating health services based on the needs of people in Winnipeg, including hospital, community health, home care and long term care services. Since it comprises about half the population of Manitoba , the WRHA has created 12 planning districts called the Winnipeg Community Areas (CAs).
